Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is best known for her part as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The seventh season of the show concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her role on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was a New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and therapist for families as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI as the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has stated that she participates in Passover seders.
